CREATING ROOMS OF OUR OWN
FROM GIRLHOOD THROUGH ELDERHOOD

RITES OF PASSAGE is...
A living museum,
A ritual art house,
A home of belonging, healing & remembrance,
And, a movement....
celebrating women's lives & initiations from birth through death.
Each 'ROOM OF CURE' in the house represents a stage or rite of passage using ritual performance, installation &
multimedia artwork.
Created as live events, our work continues to live on virtually - in film, and eventually in print in our Rites of Passage book.
Together, we are housing
the Collective Female Soul.
I Never truly acknowledged the fact that I was female until about the 2nd room, and realized maybe its not so bad as I thought."

Collaboratively created by women from diverse backgrounds and ethnicities,
Rites of Passage is a living, breathing invocation
for the healing of our lineages, the weaving of our many colors
and a fertile future for the generations to come.
The first live performance
of Rites of Passage
took place JUNE 7-10, 2013
in the historic
"Women's Club of the Berkshires"
in Pittsfield, MA.
A second live performance
- 20/20 VISION -
took place in the same house
AUGUST 13-17, 2021
focusing on the lives of
Women of Color.
OUR COLLECTIVE FUTURE DEPENDS
ON THE STORY WE TELL
As women, we are on the forefront of change as storytellers
and weavers of Life, Death + new Life.

Creativity is not a solitary movement. That is its power. Whatever is touched by it, whoever hears it, sees it, senses it, knows it, is fed. A single creative act has the potential to feed a continent. One creative act can cause a torrent to break through stone."
