CREATING ROOMS OF OUR OWN
FROM GIRLHOOD THROUGH ELDERHOOD
Rites of Passage is a House of belonging, resilience & remembrance, and a movement celebrating women's lives.
Each room in the house represents a stage or theme of initiation from birth to death, using ritual, performance + multimedia art.
Created as live events, our work continues to live on virtually - in film, and eventually in print in our Rites of Passage book.
Together, we are housing
the Collective Female Soul.
I Never truly acknowledged the fact that I was female until about the 2nd room, and realized maybe its not so bad as I thought."

OUR COLLECTIVE FUTURE DEPENDS
ON THE STORY WE TELL
As women, we are on the forefront of change as storytellers
and weavers of Life, Death + new Life.
The first live performance
of Rites of Passage
took place in 2013
in Pittsfield, MA
in a historic Women's Club.
A second live performance
- 20/20 VISION -
took on place
AUGUST 13-17, 2021
focusing on the lives of
Women of Color.
Creativity is not a solitary movement. That is its power. Whatever is touched by it, whoever hears it, sees it, senses it, knows it, is fed. A single creative act has the potential to feed a continent. One creative act can cause a torrent to break through stone."
