CREATING ROOMS OF OUR OWN

FROM GIRLHOOD THROUGH ELDERHOOD

20_20 Vision Promo Film Graphics.png

Rites of Passage is house of belonging, resilience & remembranceand a movement celebrating women's lives.

Each room in the "house", represents a stage or theme of initiation from birth to death, using ritual, art + performance. Based in live performance, our work lives on virtually, in film, and eventually in print in our ROP book.

Together, we are housing

the Collective Female Soul.

I Never truly acknowledged the fact that I was female until about the 2nd room, and realized maybe its not so bad as I thought."

-Anonymous audience member

Collaboratively created by women from diverse backgrounds and ethnicities,

Rites of Passage is a living, breathing invocation

for the healing of our lineages, the weaving of our many colors

and a fertile future for the generations to come.

Join the movement...

OUR COLLECTIVE FUTURE DEPENDS
ON THE STORY WE TELL
As women, we are on the forefront of change as storytellers
and weavers of Life, Death + new Life.

The first live performance

of Rites of Passage

took place in 2013

in Pittsfield, MA

in a historic Women's Club.

A second live performance
- 20/20 VISION -
took place
AUGUST 13-17, 2021
focusing on the lives of
Women of Color.

Creativity is not a solitary movement. That is its power. Whatever is touched by it, whoever hears it, sees it, senses it, knows it, is fed. A single creative act has the potential to feed a continent. One creative act can cause a torrent to break through stone."
